The perfect program to build a strong class community
A great way to start the new school year – or to end the semester on a high note: Our Class Bonding Days in the Youth and Family Hostels of the Austrian Youth Hostel Association (ÖJHV) offer ideal conditions to strengthen new class communities or deepen existing ones. In a relaxed atmosphere, students experience what true cooperation, trust, and team spirit really mean.
- Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
- Locations: Klagenfurt, Villach, Velden Cap Wörth, Heiligenblut, St. Gilgen, Bad Ischl, Mondsee, Linz, St. Pölten, and Neu Nagelberg
- Target group: School classes of all levels
- Travel period: Ideal in autumn and spring, but available all year round
- Prices: from EUR 99.00 per person per stay (depending on location)
The goal of the Class Bonding Days:
Students get to know each other better, build trust, and develop social skills that are essential in everyday school life: respect, tolerance, communication, responsibility, and teamwork.
How can this be achieved?
- Team-building games focusing on cooperation and communication
- Exciting group tasks that promote cohesion
- Reflection rounds to strengthen the class atmosphere
- Leisure and fun in nature or on the hostel grounds
Sample Activities:
- The Blind Path: Orientation game with blindfolds – builds trust and communication
- Tower of Power: Build a tower together using everyday materials – teamwork is key
- XXL Human Chain: A task with limited resources – only solvable with good coordination
- Mission Possible: Achieve a shared class goal through clever planning, helping, and collaboration
- Speed Dating – with a twist: Rotating 1:1 conversations with creative questions to get to know each other
- Design your Class Flag: A symbolic representation of your group identity
- Campfire Evening (where possible): Time for conversation, music, and reflection
