The protection of your personal data is very important to us. Therefore we process your data exclusively on the basis of the legal regulations (DSGVO/General Data Protection Regulation, TKG 2003). In this privacy policy we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing within our website.

Contact with us and data storage

If you contact us by form on the website or by e-mail for example for a membership card or information material, your given data will be stored in order to process the request and in case of follow-up questions. We will not share this information without your consent. After canceling the form input, the data stored with us will be deleted.

The provided data are necessary for the fulfillment of the contract or for the execution of pre-contractual measures. Without this data we can not conclude the contract with you. A transfer of data to third parties does not take place, with the exception of the transmission to the transport company / shipping company commissioned by us for the delivery of the membership dues payment note or the information material as well as to our tax advisor for the fulfillment of our tax obligations in the case of an invoice.

In the case of a contract, all data from the contractual relationship are stored until the expiry of the tax retention period (7 years).

Data processing takes place on the basis of the statutory provisions of § 96 (3) TKG and Art. 6 para. 1 lit a (consent) and / or lit b (necessary for fulfillment of the contract) of the GDPR.

Cookies

Our website uses so-called cookies. These are small text files that are stored on your device using the browser. They do no harm.

We use cookies to make our offer user-friendly. Some cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. They allow us to recognize your browser on your next visit.

Web analytics

Our website uses features of the web analytics service Google Analytics by Google LLC (“Google”), Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. For this purpose, cookies are used that allow an analysis of the use of the website by your users. The information generated thereby is transmitted to the server of the provider and stored there.

You can prevent this by setting up your browser so that no cookies are stored.

We have concluded a corresponding contract data processing contract with the provider.

Your IP address will be recorded but immediately anonymized. As a result, only a rough localization is possible.

The relationship with the web analytics provider is based on the EU-US Privacy Shield. The data processing takes place on the basis of the legal regulations of the § 96 Abs 3 TKG as well as the art 6 Abs 1 a) (consent) and / or f (legitimate interest) of the GDPR.

Our concern in the sense of the DSGVO (legitimate interest) is the improvement of our offer and our website. Since the privacy of our users is important to us, the user data is pseudonymized. The user data is kept for a period of 38 months.

Google AdWords

This website also uses Google Conversion Tracking. Google Adwords sets a cookie on your computer if you have reached our website via a Google ad. These cookies lose their validity after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If the user visits certain pages of the Adwords customer’s website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and the customer can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Every Adwords customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can not be tracked via the websites of Adwords customers. The information gathered using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for Adwords customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Adwords customers hear the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a conversion tracking tag page. However, they do not receive information that personally identifies users. If you do not want to participate in the tracking process, you can also refuse the required setting of a cookie – for example, via a browser setting that generally disables the automatic setting of cookies. You can also disable cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain “www.googleadservices.com”. We reserve the right to offer you the opportunity to sign up to our newsletter via our website. For this we need your e-mail address and your declaration that you agree with the subscription to the newsletter.

In order to provide you with targeted information, we also collect and process information voluntarily provided on areas of interest, birthday and postal code.

Social Plug-Ins

In order to give our users the opportunity to share our content on social media platforms, we provide social plug-ins on our website. A connection to the social media platforms is made only after active action (use of the respective share button). The Austrian Youth Hostel Association has no influence, knowledge or access to data processed by Social Media Portal. The assignment of the website visit to the personal social media profile can be avoided by a previous logout in the social media profile.

Google Web Fonts

This site uses so-called web fonts, provided by Google, for the uniform representation of fonts. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache to display texts and fonts correctly.

To do this, the browser you use must connect to Google’s servers. As a result, Google learns that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a consistent and attractive presentation of our online services.
